The Forsyth County Water & Sewer Department has published its 2020 Water Quality Report, detailing where the county’s water supply comes from, what it contains and whether it meets standards of the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

"Forsyth County's water met all U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and state drinking water health standards in 2019," according to a county announcement.

The report describes how most of the county’s water is drawn from Lake Lanier and treated by the county or the city of Cumming; and that it contains natural minerals and some man-made contaminants in amounts too small to be problematical, among other information.
