Forsyth County now has its 2016 operating budge in place. The Board of Commissioners approved the document at its most recent regular meeting.
The 2016 general fund plan totals $108.92 million, a more than 5 percent increase from 2015. It allots $67.3 million for salaries and $29.4 million for operating expenses. In addition, the county’s capital fund budget includes some $9.5 million for various projects.
Commissioners also accepted a $135,000 check that will fund the purchase of nine new CPR machines for fire department use. They’re designed to deliver automatic cardiac compressions to patients and officials said the purchase will mean every front-line fire apparatus in the county will have the device.
