ORIGINAL STORY (published March 30): An Atlanta restaurant failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting more than 30 violations.
J and J Bourbon Bar, located in Virginia-Highland, scored a 53/U following the Tuesday evaluation; 69 and below is considered failing. Its previous score, from June, was a 90.
According to this week’s report, there was "live fly activity throughout facility."

Officials also reported a “black slime-like substance on soda gun nozzles,” pork belly found stored past seven days and pooled water throughout the basement.
A voicemail left with the restaurant was not immediately returned.
A follow-up inspection is scheduled for April 7. The report notes an “inoperable reach-in cooler” with mold growth must be discarded before then.
