Firefighter taken to hospital, homes evacuated in suspected arson

A firefighter was taken to the hospital Tuesday while battling a suspected arson in Floyd County, according to the Rome News-Tribune.

Homes along U.S. 27 were being evacuated as the blaze began about 3 p.m., the newspaper reported. School bus service in the Pepperell district was delayed until further notice.
