One small child was treated for smoke inhalation after a two-alarm fire damaged an apartment building in Clayton County on Tuesday morning, an official told the AJC.

Battalion Chief Landry Merkison said six apartment units were involved in the fire and five families were displaced.

Clayton County firefighters reponded to the scene at the Highland Vista Apartments, located in the 300 block of Arrowhead Boulevard, after the blaze was reported at 10:30 a.m.

The fire is under investigation.
