Electrical fire cause of outages in South Fulton

An electrical fire was the cause of a major power outage in South Fulton Sunday evening.

The failure of an electrical switch caused the fire.

Vicki Harshbarger, spokeswoman for GreyStone, told the AJC the fire affected their Camp Creek substation.

"At the height of the emergency, 11,000 were out" she said. All power was restored by around 11 p.m., she said.

The outage affected the Palmetto-Cascade Highway area, Harshbarger said.
