A mentally ill young man who walked away from South Fulton Hospital on Tuesday night has been found, authorities said.

Concerns for Jabari Boatwright, 19, who suffers from schizophrenia, caused authorities to issue a Mattie's Call on Wednesday to seek the public's help to find him.

Boatwright, who was last seen wearing blue hospital scrubs, showed up at his family's home in Hapeville, according to East Point police spokesman Lt. Clifford Chandler.

"He showed up at home, safe and sound" and a little cold, Chandler said, adding that Boatwright will be taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.

Established by the Georgia General Assembly in 2006, Mattie's Call is an emergency missing alert for disabled or elderly persons. It can only be activated by a local law enforcement agency.
