It’s time to get rid of that old recliner in your garage that doesn’t recline anymore. It’s time to dump the spare wood left over from that project you finished four months ago. That floor mat that’s stained and torn? Yup, that needs to go too.

The good news is that you can dump all of that junk and more this weekend in Sandy Springs.

Keep North Fulton Beautiful is hosting a free Bulky Trash Day, which actually spans over two days, at the Sandy Springs Recycling Center at 470 Morgan Falls Road.

The event is for Sandy Springs residents only and not open to contractors or landscapers. Folks looking to dump their junk should bring a driver’s license to prove their residency.

Collectors of bulky waste will be at the recycling center on Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Items accepted include: broken furniture, carpet, sheet rock, window glass, lumber, wood, cabinets, doors, mattresses, scrap metal, stoves, washers and dryers. Electronics and items with Freon will be accepted too, but may come with a recycling fee.

Items that should not be brought to the event include: paint, household hazardous waste, motor oil, anti-freeze, household garbage, tires, concrete, bricks, rock, dirt, sand and yard waste.

For questions about specific items or for more information, call 770-551-7766 or email info@knfb.org.
