Duluth Mayor Nancy Harris and a group from the First Baptist Church of Duluth visited Duluth, Minn., last week to help the city in its recovery from mid-June floods that caused millions of dollars in damage.
Harris and the group brought 675 pairs of work gloves collected by First Baptist Church, Howard Brothers - Duluth and other residents. Teenage volunteers who came to Minnesota through a program called World Changers transported the gloves on their van.
"Work gloves are going to be an ongoing need for North Duluth," Harris said in a statement. "I am looking for a way to keep this project going and be able to ship the gloves to North Duluth."
