The Metro Atlanta Mayors Association recently and unanimously elected Duluth Mayor Nancy Harris as chair to lead the organization consisting of the mayors of more than 70 cities in the 10-county metro Atlanta region.

MAMA, a cohort of the Georgia Municipal Association, works to foster communications among cities in the metro Atlanta region, supports public policy decisions beneficial to them, coordinates activities among the cities, and communicates identified needs to federal, state and regional agencies and organizations, as well as residents of the region.

“It is an honor to serve as chairperson of MAMA, a position that allows me to engage the collective strength of the cities in the metro Atlanta region,” Mayor Harris said.

Chamblee Mayor Eric Clarkson hands over the chair position to Harris. The MAMA Executive Committee selected Tyrone Mayor Eric Dial as vice chair, a position most recently held by Harris.
