The Doraville City Council recently approved a bid by design consulting firm Clark Patterson Lee to design the layout of the Civic Campus redevelopment project. The $124,500 bid is for a new downtown civic campus that includes consolidation of all city facilities onto one parcel (City Hall, Civic Center, police station, courthouse, library, and structured parking).

The campus will be part of a transit-oriented masterplan redevelopment including infrastructure improvements (roads, underground utilities, streetscape) and extension of Flowers Park into a civic lawn with a stormwater pond. The masterplan site is directly across from the Doraville MARTA station.

Another agenda item approved by council was to amend the city fee schedule to include permit fees for film and television productions, revising the schedule previously adopted in 2012. The council also approved acceptance of the Land Water Conservation Fund Grant for $25,00 by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The grant will fund the installation of a pedestrian bridge in Halpern Park. The city will provide the remaining $35,000 to complete the project.
