Domestic violence awareness initiative launched

Members of the Fulton County Superior Court Clerk’s Office on Friday released scores of purple balloons into the air outside the courthouse to launch a domestic violence awareness initiative.

Clerk Cathelene “Tina” Robinson reminded her employees that they are often the first people victims see when they enter the courthouse to seek protective orders to keep violent family members away. “This is an important initiative for our office and for the entire community,” she said.

Tied to all the balloons were inspirational, hand-written messages written by office employees in hopes the balloons would be found by domestic violence victims or people who know them.
