A driver was cited after allegedly hitting an off-duty officer’s car on I-75 south Monday morning at Moores Mill Road.

The Atlanta Police Department officer was in a Mercedes when a 2014 Toyota Camry heading southbound “failed to maintain its lane” and struck the officer’s car, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Both drivers had minor injuries, but neither was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Camry was cited for failure to maintain lane.

The crash investigation temporarily shut down two lanes and an exit ramp on the interstate and caused heavy delays back to Cobb County. Those delays remained after the crash investigation cleared about 8:45 a.m.,  according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
