Marvin Billups, DeKalb County’s deputy director of recreation and parks, was inducted into the Georgia Recreation and Park Association Hall of Fame at a recent annual conference.

Billups’ career began as a recreation supervisor in Atlanta before serving as acting department director there and an official in recreation offices in North Carolina and Maryland, as well as for the National Capitol Park.

He is also a past president of the National Recreation and Park Association and of the Georgia association.
