Smoke Rise Elementary in DeKalb County was evacuated Monday due to a "light haze of smoke" inside the school, according to the fire department.
"As a precaution, they wanted to evacuate everybody,” Capt. Eric Jackson, spokesman for DeKalb fire, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Stone Mountain-area school is located at 1991 Silver Hill Road.
The source of the smoke isn't clear.
“We’re still there trying to figure that out,” Jackson said at 3:45 p.m.
Further information wasn't immediately released.
