DeKalb County District 4 Commissioner Steve Bradshaw has partnered with several local organizations to present the fourth annual Refugee Career Summit 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 at Georgia State University’s Clarkston Campus, 555 North Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston.
The Refugee Career Summit, a community event organized by Friends of Refugees three years ago, is designed for local refugees and immigrants seeking the next step in their careers, according to a press release. Hiring employers will be in attendance for a day of networking and opportunities. All DeKalb County residents are welcome to attend.
The first portion of this event features leaders in refugee employment in workshops. The latter half of the day will include a public job fair. Invited are community members with a variety of skills seeking employment. Jobseekers will need to bring their ID and are encouraged to bring a resume.
