DeKalb County Commissioner recently donated $1,000 of her office budget to the Scottdale-Tobie Grant Homework Center.

The center, a branch of the DeKalb County Public Library, bought 88 books with the gift, all focused on children and teens.

Because of budget cuts, the county spends just $100,000 countywide on materials at all of the library’s 22 branches.
