Decatur will host a community workshop next month to talk about improvements to railroad crossings in the city.

The city is considering how to improve crossings at Candler Road and McDonough Street as part of its $1.5 million capital improvement plan. The goal is to improve safety and accessibility for walkers, cyclists and others using the crossings. Requirements for a quiet zone in the railroad corridor also will be considered.

The workshop runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 12 at City Hall on North McDonough Street. The public is welcome.
