Citing ongoing recommendations by public health officials for social distancing to stem the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the city of Cumming announced it is extending through Friday, April 10, the closure to the public of all city-owned and operated facilities.

Additionally, the city has extended by two weeks, through Sunday, April 26, the suspension of Recreation & Parks Department programs and activities. The department will announce updated plans the week of April 20-24.

“During the extended closures, city of Cumming employees will still report to work whenever possible and continue to conduct city business via telephone and/or email while practicing social distancing, stringent handwashing, and other good hygiene measures while at work,” the city said.
