A couple escaped a fire in northeast Atlanta early Friday that damaged the first floor of their home.
The fire started in the living room in the 1700 block of Johnson Road, Atlanta fire Battalion Chief Kevin Roberts said.
When crews arrived just after 5 a.m., the blaze could be seen from the front door.
“They were able to make a quick knockdown on the fire,” Roberts said.
No injuries or damage to the second floor of the home were reported, and the cause of the fire was unknown early Friday.
“We’ve got fire investigators en route,” Roberts said.
