Waleska considers building city park
A first-ever city park is in the works for Waleska. The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners Tuesday OK’ed a memorandum of understanding with the city to buy some 15 acres of land behind City Hall for $190,000, using money from the 2008 parks bond issue.
Waleska city officials say the passive park will eventually include benches and walking trails, but that no money for development has been set aside at this point.
