Cops: Man tried to rape agent at real estate office
Cobb County police are investigating an armed robbery and attempted sexual assault that happened Thursday afternoon in Smyrna.
According to investigators, a man entered the business office of a new subdivision in the Cheyenne Drive area at about 3:52 p.m. He approached the real estate agent and after a brief conversation, the man pulled out a handgun and robbed the woman of personal items. He then forced the woman into the bathroom of the business office and attempted to sexually assault her. After a brief struggle with the man, the woman was able to escape out the back door of the business.
Police describe the suspect as a black male, in his late 20s early 30s, wearing a white hat (possibly baseball style with straight brim) with a white t-shirt and dark pants.
