Cops: Man steals credit card, goes on ‘shopping spree’ in Gwinnett

Gwinnett County police are trying to identify this man, who they believe broke into a car, stole a credit card and used the card for a "shopping spree."

Gwinnett County police are searching for a man who allegedly broke into a car, stole a credit card and went on a “shopping spree” on someone else’s dime.

A suspect broke into the victim’s car in the “early morning hours” of May 7, stealing the victim’s credit card, the department said in a release. The victim’s car was parked inside a gated apartment complex, according to police.

After the break-in, the suspect used the victim’s card at several gas stations and two Walmart stores, making multiple purchases. The victim was seen on surveillance footage at both Walmart stores and changed clothes between the first Walmart visit and the second.

The suspect drove a silver sedan and had a thin goatee, police said.
