Five teenagers are facing felony charges for setting off homemade bombs in a Snellville backyard, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Two parents are also being charged with unruly conduct after telling police they thought the incident was “harmless fun,” Channel 2 said Tuesday.

Officers surrounded the Windmeyer Court home Monday after neighbors called authorities concerned about a possible shooting.

"We took our kids and went into the basement because we saw at least half a dozen police officers swarm our cul-de-sac with guns drawn," neighbor Laura Mayske told Channel 2.

Neighbors said they heard at least eight blasts, and Snellville police said they found debris and five teenagers from 16 to 19 behind the house.

The teens were setting off bombs they learned how to make online, police said, using water bottles, bathroom cleaning fluids and tin foil.

Four were arrested: Nicholas Ralston, Matthew Dryden, Christopher Mulhall and Jordan Mccourt. They face felony charges for possessing and manufacturing destructive devices, the report said. The 16-year-old also was charged.
