Compassion through diapers: Cobb residents urged to give

When you're hungry and have a baby the budget may not cover diapers.

Food stamps won't pay for them, but day care centers require them, which can make life tough for working families on a tight budget. That's why the Cobb Diaper Day Committee will hold its third annual diaper collection at 5 p.m. on Oct. 24.

The committee is asking people to collect diapers from friends and colleagues then bring them to Glover Park on the Marietta Square. Committee chair Barbara Hickey says the effort has garnered 120,000 diapers since 2009. Information: www.cobbdiaperday.com.
