Roger Schlenker submitted this photo he took while waiting for a friend who was in surgery at Piedmont Hospital in July. “I walked to a window and saw this stately, elegant hawk. It was perched on a wire fence by a construction site at Piedmont, looking over Peachtree Street,” he wrote. “I wondered what it saw, where it came from, and where was it going? What a peaceful and unusual moment with the busy, Atlanta city life below.”
