The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted recently to sell the county’s 10th surplus property at 57 Waddell St. in Marietta.

That tract will be sold to the Marietta law firm of Gregory, Doyle, Calhoun & Rogers, LLC for $2.1 million, according to a Cobb County statement.

This sale is the largest of the 10 properties sold since Cobb’s surplus property program began in 2014.

The sales by Cobb have generated more than $6.5 million for taxpayers, the statement said.

Kennesaw State University is leasing the building for the Ignite HQ program through June 2020.

Established in 2015 and supported by Cobb County, IgniteHQ was developed in partnership with Kennesaw State University and in collaboration with the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.

IgniteHQ accelerates startups, cultivates job growth and provides market expansion resources in the Southeast, according to its website.
