Cobb County School District officials will hold three public hearings on proposed property tax increases.

The annual tax increase for a house with a fair market value of $225,000 would be about $86.

For a non-homestead property with a fair market value of $325,000, the annual increase would be around $139.75.

Hearings will be 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday in Suite 140, 590 Commerce Park, Marietta and 8:30 a.m. July 22 in the Board Room, 514 Glover St., Marietta.

A millage rate has been adopted tentatively by the school board that will require an increase in property taxes by 6.03 percent.

This increase would result in a millage rate of 18.9 mills, an increase of 1.075 mills.
