A disturbance involving dozens of teenagers Thursday stemmed from a dispute at a pool party, Cobb County police said Friday.

The argument started when a group of uninvited teens showed up at the pool party, which had attracted about 40 kids.

Someone called the police but the party-crashers were gone by the time officers got to the house on Macland Road around 2:15 p.m.

"It was apparently a group of  kids having a pool party," Cobb police spokesman Joe Hernendez said. "A few kids showed up who weren’t supposed to be there. It wasn’t really a fight. It was more like a back and forth. ‘You need to leave.'"

Most of the kids were from McEachern High School though some went to Osborne," Hernendez said. They had been released from school early, at 11:30 a.m., according to the school district's website.

"While the officers were on scene, two girls got into a fight with each other," he said.

They were arrested on disorderly conduct charges.

The 16-year-old, who was not identified because of her age, was sent home with her parents. Angelica Alexsia Fields,  who is considered an adult because she is 17, was jailed but soon released on $100 bond.
