A 32-year-old Mableton man has been sentenced after admitting to molesting a girl who was seven years old at the time.

Jaime Luis Baezdiaz was ordered Monday to spend 30 years in prison on four counts of child molestation, Cobb County prosecutors said in a press release.

The molestations took place over several months in 2015. The girl complained to her mother about pain, which is how the crime came to light, according to a warrant.

“This predator took the trust and admiration of a young child and used it against this little girl for his own perversion,” said prosecutor Chuck Boring.

Baezdiaz pleaded guilty as opening statements were set to start.

In addition to the three decades of prison time, the judge added that he be on probation for 30 years after he gets out.

Baezdiaz was given credit for the three years he has already served. That means that if everything plays out as ordered, he’ll be nearing 90 years old when he gets off probation.
