A 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning in east Cobb County and charged with an April murder in North Carolina, police said.

Brandon Jamelle Kee, of Marietta, is a suspect in the death of 33-year-old Kareem Fowler in Durham, N.C., Durham police said. In May, Kee was one three people who fled the crime scene after Fowler was shot, Durham police told the AJC.

Investigators said Fowler was visiting a Dupree Street home when a vehicle pulled up, Kammie Michael with Durham police said. A man got out of the vehicle and an argument started prior to gunfire, Michael said. Fowler was taken to Duke University hospital, where he later died, police said.

Durham police informed Cobb County police that Kee was believed to be in the area, Sgt. Dana Pierce with Cobb police told the AJC. Lee was arrested without incident at a CVS near Shallowford Green Drive, Pierce said.

Kee is being held in the Cobb County jail without bond, according to jail records. He is expected to be extradited back to North Carolina.
