Cobb County police are looking for the getaway driver of a failed bank robbery after arresting an accused accomplice Tuesday.

Investigators don’t have a description for the driver of the stolen Toyota SUV that 19-year-old Marcus Simeon hopped into after allegedly trying to rob the Chase Bank at 2989 Delk Road, police said.

The Marietta teen is being held without bond on charges of attempted robbery, obstruction of justice and theft by receiving.

At 9:25 a.m., Simeon gave a bank teller a note demanding money. Cops don’t know why, but he left before getting any cash. He didn’t appear to have a weapon, police said.

Alicia Chilton, spokeswoman with Cobb police, said officers quickly swarmed the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex where the car was.

Both men ran out of the car, which was reported stolen out of Smyrna the night before. After searching the area, officers found only Simeon, she said.

Anyone with information can call police at 770-499-3945.
