Cobb Commissioner Bob Ott said during a candidate forum Wednesday that he would support a compensation study for county employees if the work was conducted by a committee recommended by a citizens oversight panel.
The oversight committee recommended the county create independent audit and compensation committees, but last month County Manager David Hankerson disagreed with the suggestion. He did agree with hiring an outside firm to conduct the pay study, which was estimated to cost $350,000.
Commissioners have made no decisions on the pay study, but some residents have already balked at the cost.
