Blondie and the women from Clermont Lounge need your help.

The Ponce de Leon Avenue palace of grime, home to the popular exotic dancers, has been closed since the start of the year. The historic Clermont Motor Hotel is being transformed by the magic of redevelopment into an upscale boutique hotel with a "destination restaurant" by year's end.

The dancers have been without pay for weeks, as the renovations are taking longer than expected.

Now an Austell bar has stepped in and volunteered its space for a car wash Sunday so the dancers can make some cash.

You can head to B3 Bar and Grill, 2523 Veterans Memorial Highway SW, between 1 and 6 p.m., grab a beer, get your car cleaned and listen to some tunes.

Star Community Bar in Little Five Points let the women dance (clothes-on) a couple weeks ago to earn some money.

“The girls got some friends,” Clermont owner Kathi Martin said of the very-much-grown women.

She said six or seven of the dancers will be at the Sunday benefit.

Martin confirmed that the much-adored Blondie will be there. But Martin wouldn’t vouch for the car-washing skills of the one-woman beer-crushing-machine.

“I don’t know how good of a job she’ll do,” Martin said.

They plan on being back in their divey home by the first week of April.
