Clayton Schools Superintendent Morcease Beasley to talk about coronavirus impact on district during Facebook Live address on Monday.

Clayton Schools Superintendent Morcease Beasley will address county residents on the coronavirus in a Facebook Live at 1 p.m. Monday.

Beasley will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the school system, including the status of operations, initiatives of support for students and “the importance of making the most of these non-traditional circumstances,” the district said in a release announcing the event.

Clayton, like other metro Atlanta school systems, closed earlier this month over fears of a national spread of the virus. The district has since set up food distribution sites at 21 schools to offer children breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday.

The school system also is partnering with the Atlanta Community Food Bank on March 27 to bring groceries to Clayton residents.
