The Clayton County Board of Education is seeking the public's help in naming its newest school building.
The south metro Atlanta district has launched an online survey asking residents suggestions for a moniker for the elementary school building, which is under construction on Panhandle Road in south Clayton. The school will house students currently enrolled at Eddie White Elementary School.
The deadline for suggestions is May 30.
"While it shall be the board's sole responsibility to select and assign a name to each new unnamed educational facility or, as conditions may warrant, rename an educational facility, individuals and organizations of Clayton County are encouraged to submit names to the board," the Clayton School board says in the survey.
The building can be named after deceased Clayton residents who have had an impact on the county as well as those who are still living, the board side. Those who are alive, however, must document in writing that they approval being considered.
“Names duplicating in whole, or in part, the name of an existing Clayton County School shall be ineligible for selection,” the board said.
