Cherokee says motor vehicle notices could be delayed

Cherokee County’s tax commissioner is warning residents of potential delays in their motor vehicle registration notices.

The tax office says that’s because the company the Georgia Department of Revenue uses to send out the notices has ceased operations. The Department of Revenue said in a news release that notices to vehicle owners have run behind as a result, specifically the October renewal reminder mailing.

State revenue officials said they’re working on getting the November notices mailed as quickly as possible.
