Hot towels in a clothes dryer are blamed for an overnight chemical fire at a warehouse near Austell that required several Cobb County firefighters to be decontaminated, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Firefighters who responded to the blaze at Alliance Laundry and Textile Services on Second Flag Drive, in an industrial park off Six Flags Drive, came in contact with burning chemicals, officials said.

"They do dry-cleaning services, so they do have certain small amounts of dry-cleaning materials and chemicals, and what was on fire was a pallet of some of the plastic totes that the chemicals were in," Cobb fire spokeswoman Michele Ice told Channel 2.

The warehouse's sprinkler system doused much of the blaze before firefighters arrived. The firefighters who were exposed to chemicals were treated at a local hospital and released.
