A stretch of road in Roswell will be closed for parts of Thursday and Friday while crews perform landscaping and street repairs on the edges of a cemetery.

Woodstock Street, between Minhinette Drive and Highway 9, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. those days while work is done near the Old Roswell Cemetery.

The city says it must close that stretch of the road because of the cemetery’s proximity to it.

The city said in a release that providing landscaping work to address the erosion problem along the slopes near the cemetery is a “priority” for Roswell and the city’s historical society.

To get around the closed section of the road, drivers are advised to use Green Street to get to Highway 9, Minhinette Drive to access Crabapple Road, and Norcross Street to get to Highway 140.
