Halloween’s over, and that means the holiday season is fast approaching. For the Mall of Georgia, it begins on Nov. 9.

The Buford mall will celebrate its annual tree lighting that evening with an event for all ages. The celebration will feature live music, Santa and, of course, a 50-foot Christmas tree.

The event begins at 3 p.m. with “family-friendly activities” in the Village, the mall’s outdoor events space. Between 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., guests can also enjoy performances from DJ B-Rock, Starr Phillips, Elite Dance Academy and The Xperience. At 6:30 p.m., the tree will be lit by Santa himself, with support from Papa Elf.

The night will be capped with a 7 p.m. outdoor screening of “The Grinch.” Guests are encouraged to bundle up and bring their own chairs to sit in while watching the film. Adults 21 and older can also get alcoholic beverages from surrounding restaurants and drink them in the Village.

The event is free and open to the public.
