A motorist was killed Thursday morning when a tree fell on his car in Carroll County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Harry Thomas White was driving a 1987 Ford Thunderbird northbound on Ga. 113 near Spinks Road when a tree that was about 30 feet off the east shoulder of the roadway fell onto the vehicle, a GSP spokesman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

White, 62, of Temple, was killed.

There were no other vehicles involved, and no other injuries were reported.

Wind gusts as high as 25 mph were reported across metro Atlanta Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The fatality was at least the fourth in Georgia this year involving trees falling on vehicles.

Roy Arndt, 60, of Oxford died Feb. 26 when a tree fell onto his pickup truck on I-20 in Rockdale County.

Two days later, two members of the Brewton-Parker College baseball team, 20-year-old Johnathan Bell of Monticello and 19-year-old Kevin Camp of Shady Dale, died when a tree fell on Bell’s pickup truck as the Jasper County High School graduates were on their way to baseball practice.
