Sandy Springs police reported one stolen car and at least 13 car break-ins that took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning at three apartment and condominium complexes.
Thirteen is an unusually high number of break-ins at one time in one area, said Capt. Mike Lindstrom, spokesman for the Sandy Springs Police Department. All three of the complexes where the crimes occurred are on Roswell Road.
One car was stolen from Southern Trace apartments. The Summit Condominiums complex and the Round Hill Condominiums complex had several car break-ins each, said Lindstrom.
Investigators believe it was the same group that broke into the cars between midnight and 7 a.m., Lindstrom said.

With the holiday season in full swing, Lindstrom said people traveling more and buying more should stay alert.
"It's important to bring everything inside, otherwise you might have to buy it again," he said.
