The mystery surrounding the death of wife and mother who lived in an upscale part of Cherokee County continued Friday after an autopsy could not determine how she died.
Debra Black, 48, of Canton was found dead with trauma to her body at a Roswell hotel on June 2.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled she died from undetermined causes.
Roswell police found Black’s body on the bed at the InTown Suites Extended Stay Hotel on Upper Hembree Road. Police noted that the room was in disarray and the body had "some points of interest on it."
Police Lt. James McGee said there were “some issues with the body.” Police continue to investigate.
The Fulton medical examiner, however, ruled the cause of death is undetermined.
A medical examiner's investigator said there was evidence of a severe blunt force injury on Blacks body, but it isn't believed the injury killed the woman, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Black lived with her husband and daughter on Sourwood Lane in an upscale, sparsely populated area west of Holly Springs, where homes are spacious on large wooded lots. Efforts to reach family were unsuccessful.
The unemployed woman checked into the hotel a few days before she was found dead Jun. 2. Authorities have not said why she was at the hotel. An InTown Suites employee found her body when she went to clean the room just before 11 a.m.
Private services for Black were held June 10 at Hickory Flat United Methodist Church in Canton.
