The Canton City Council has awarded a $1.45 million contract to Bartow Paving Co. to surface streets in six neighborhoods as part of the Public Works Department’s FY 2020 Paving Project.
Bartow Paving submitted the lowest of three bids for the work. The project will be paid for by $600,000 from the Road and Sidewalk Fund and subsidized by add-on fees collected in developing neighborhoods, staff said in a report to the council.
“By approving this contract, the city of Canton will be completing the finished topping on all streets in the neighborhoods of Iris Park, Norton Lake and Park Village,” staff said. “Additional streets will be top-coated in Great Sky, Towne Mill and Laurel Canyon.”
