A Clayton County judge denied bond Monday for a College Park man, charged with killing a family member during a drunken brawl.

Eric Patterson, 30, remains in the Clayton County jail, charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, obstruction and discharging a firearm.

Patterson and family member Larry Davis, 34, got into an argument at their home at Meadowview Apartments on Meadow Circle in College Park around 9 p.m. Saturday, Clayton County police Lt. Rebecca Brown said.

The fight escalated to physical violence and then gunfire, police said.

Davis was rushed to Southern Regional Medical Center, where he later died, Brown said.

Police arrested Patterson after family members identified his as the shooter, Brown said.
