A portion of northeastern Forsyth County is under a boil-water advisory.

The county issued the notice early Friday because of a water main break.

The advisory includes the Shady Grove Road area, and all roads off Shady Grove between Mountain View Trail and Lake Lanier.

People should boil all water that will be used for drinking, cooking or preparing baby food, Forsyth officials said in a online post. The water should be boiled for at least one minute after it reaches a full boil.

The advisory is in effect for 48 hours after water has been restored, unless notified otherwise by the county Department of Water & Sewer.

Questions about the advisory should be directed to 770-781-2160.
