A fire at a storage facility on Lake Lanier in Buford destroyed or heavily damaged around 16 boats, recreational vehicles and other vehicles on Monday, fire officials said.

The cause and origin of the blaze at The Landing on Holiday Boat & RV Storage on Lanier Islands Parkway were under investigation, said Captain Zachary Brackett of Hall County Fire Services.

Brackett said there were no injuries.

The captain said 25 to 30 firefighters responded to the blaze, and it took them about an hour and a half to put it out after firefighters began arriving around 3:45 p.m.

“It looked like it had gotten a pretty good head start before our units arrived,” Brackett told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Other boats and RVs sustained smoke and heat damage.

Fire investigators were expected to return to the scene Tuesday morning to continue determining the extent of the damage, including the value of the boats and RVs lost.
