Hall County Christians of all colors are coming together Sunday to worship.

Members of the predominantly white Air Line Baptist Church in north Hall plan to travel to Gainesville for an 11 a.m. joint service at the historically black St. John Baptist Church, the Gainesville Times reported. The service is meant to be a statement of Christian solidarity amid growing racial tensions.

The country is on edge in the wake of another round of police shootings that left two black men dead. That was followed by a deadly ambush at the end of a peaceful protest in Dallas. Five officers were killed.

“We’re going to do something to make sure Gainesville doesn’t become the next Ferguson, Dallas or Baton Rouge,” Air Line’s senior pastor Scott W. Moore told the Times. “We want our community to understand that no matter what the color of your skin is, that we’re all brothers and sisters in Christ.”
