Milton’s annual Independence Day Walking Parade is bringing red, white, blue and road closures.

The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in front of the Broadwell Pavilion and then head around the lake in the Crabapple Station and Crabapple Crossing neighborhoods.

The city said roads will be closed for only as long as it takes from the parade to make it through, which they predict to be 20 minutes.

Walkers are encouraged to dress up wagons, carts, bikes, children and even pets (on a leash) for the parade. Those with the most spirit might win prizes, the city said.

At the pavilion, there will be games, popcorn, crafts, a bounce house, face painting and vehicles for a Touch-a-Truck event.

As for parking, the city suggests trying Milton City Hall, Alpharetta Court Services or Crabapple First Baptist Church.
