He’s a 4-year-old superhero with the superpower of caring for others.
Austin Perine, self-proclaimed superhero, is working with Church’s Chicken to feed the Atlanta homeless community on June 29. Church’s representatives explained that Austin’s story is what influenced their partnership with him.
“We saw a video of Austin with the Atlanta Braves telling his story and we immediately took to it,” said Peyton Sandler, a Church’s spokeswoman. “His favorite food is chicken and he wanted to hand out chicken sandwiches.”

This isn’t the first time the chicken spot has partnered with Perine. Church’s has worked with Austin for feed the homeless events in Birmingham, Alabama, Mobile, Alabama and Los Angeles.
Terance Perine, Austin’s father, explained that his son was inspired to help people who are homeless after watching a show on Animal Planet where a panda leaves her cub alone. They want people to know that it’s important to get involved in their own communities too.
“We want people to be encouraged to get out in their respective communities and help as well,” said Terance Perine. “Austin’s motto is: ‘even if you help one person, you’ve made a difference and don’t forget to show love’.”
Austin will be passing out chicken, biscuits, and mashed potatoes from Church’s Chicken and waters from the Atlanta Food Bank.
The four-year old will be serving the homeless at 10 a.m. in Hurt Park, located at 25 Courtland St.
